I was just about to purchase the CD from Norah Jones this afternoon when I noticed that it has copy protection technology. The label said that it was compatible with CD-ROM & DVD ROM drives (and mentioned Windows 98 or later – nothing about Linux or Mac), however I wasn’t prepared to take the risk that I wouldn’t be able to rip it to MP3 and thus listen to it on my iPod or my mp3Elf. I am glad that they clearly labeled the CD, although perhaps that is fear of the ACCC.
Interestingly, there are MP3s available for download from the Norah Jones site, so they seem to be discouraging purchase of the CD and encouraging getting at least some of the tracks for free.
