We went for dinner at the Harbour View Hotel in The Rocks last night. They had a sign on the door advertising that they had a PubNet wireless hotspot installed. Best of all the price per hour is zero, nada, zilch. The theory seems to be that you will attract more people to your pub and for longer if you provide free Internet. Sounds like a good idea to me. Certainly more attractive than $9-$15 per hour.
Unfortunately I didn’t have my laptop with me so I couldn’t try it out, but it may be worth a return visit. The fact that they have James Squire Amber Ale on tap doesn’t hurt either.
